Dr. Roger “Ryan” Rider is a nationally recognized public safety educator, investigator, and technology consultant dedicated to preparing communities, schools, and first responders for today’s evolving threats. With more than 30 years of combined law enforcement, investigative, and training experience, Dr. Rider brings a rare blend of real-world insight and cutting-edge innovation to every client he serves.
As a licensed Private Investigator in Texas, Dr. Rider leads Triple R Investigations with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and the highest forensic standards. His background includes decades of service as a Patrol Officer, Traffic Investigator, Detective, and Patrol Corporal, where he supervised critical incidents and worked complex criminal and crash investigations. This operational foundation drives TRI’s focus on precise documentation, ethical case handling, and evidence-based reporting.
Dr. Rider is also a certified ALIVE Active Shooter Survival instructor, equipping workplaces, churches, and schools with the practical skills needed to prevent violence and respond decisively when seconds matter. His courses combine threat awareness, situational decision-making, and survivability strategies rooted in both research and lived experience. As an educator, he is known for delivering high-impact instruction with empathy, faith, and clarity.
Recognized as a leading voice in immersive technology for public safety, Dr. Rider works as a VR/AR consultant, helping law enforcement, academies, and universities integrate digital simulations into training and evaluation. His doctoral research at Tarleton State University explored how augmented reality enhances de-escalation skills using the ICAT model, and his findings continue to inform training programs across the country.
Dr. Rider is also an authorized Insta360 reseller and certified 360-imaging trainer, providing agencies and investigators with best-practice instruction on capturing XHD forensic imagery, building virtual walk-throughs, and producing courtroom-ready reconstructions. His expertise spans VR simulation systems, 360 documentation platforms, and 3D scanning tools used nationwide for crash, crime, and critical incident analysis.
A Christian husband and father, Dr. Rider grounds his work in service, stewardship, and a belief that preparedness saves lives. He hosts The Virtual Reality Reconstructionist podcast, teaches university-level courses on reconstruction and digital forensics, and continues to develop cutting-edge training products that bridge traditional policing with next-generation technologies.
